The Drought in Maharashtra is the worst drought since decades the last time such a condition was there is 1972.

First let’s look at the statistics of the amount of water that will be utilized in this process:

There will be a total of 16 matches that will be played in the state of Maharashtra. Out of which 8 matches will be played in Mumbai and 8 of them will be played in Pune. Everyday there is at least 5 to 6 tankers of water needed to maintain the ground. Every tanked contains 10,000 liters of water.

Hence only for the matches to be conducted in Mumbai, MCA will have to shell out 45*5=225 tankers of water. That is a total of 45*50,000= 22 lakh 50 thousand liters of water will be wasted. The same amount of water will be used in Pune as well. Hence the total amount of water wasted for IPL 2013 will be a minimum 45 lakh liters of water to Maximum of 65 Lakh liters. This is enough to remove the draught conditions in 10 villages of the country.

Both the organizers will be pending a sum of only 3 Lakh rupees for this arrangement. However, the government threatens to kick out IPL if 1000 ltrs of water wasted on Pitch!

Well even if this is a politics stunt by the BJP or if this is a genuine issue that is up to you to decide but deep down is this war between the Govt. and IPL T20, there is this poor farmer who is suffering from drought which is for sure.  And neither the Government nor the state or IPL seems to be worried about this issue which is the saddest part of all. 1. Before you even get on to the snowboard it’s important to find the right type of surface to attach yourself to it and vice versa.
