What is Psoriasis and Its Symptoms

Psoriasis is a skin disease resulting in skin redness and irritation. People that suffer from Psoriasis have red skin and white patches. This disease is common as anyone can suffer, but mostly it is found in age group of 15 to 35 years.  Psoriasis is not contagious, that means it cannot be spread from one person to other. Psoriasis is caused when immune system mistily takes healthy cells as pathogen (dangerous substances) and sends them out.

 

The main reason behind Psoriasis is not understood, the best reason understood is excessive growth of skin cells which result in immune system to understand them as dangerous objects for our body and the system tries to send them put of body, resulting in red and white patches on skin. Psoriasis can grow without any reason and improve to worse situation. And the disease can cause physical and mental stress, skin infections with change in weather and various allergies. Because Psoriasis is caused by mistake of the immune system, there are high chances to get it transferred from one generation to another.

The Symptoms of Psoriasis can be different in every case. It may appear slowly or suddenly. It may be cured and comes back on its own. There are some common things that are found in each case. The skin may become red with white flakes. Most commonly it appears on elbows and middle of body, sometime on knees also. The skin may be itchy, dry and flaky. Sometimes it appears on nails-the nails become yellowish brown and get dents in nails. The condition may be worse with the change in whether and the patient can feel joint pain. It is advisable that you eat very healthy food and include exercise in your lifestyle. Healthy lifestyle is the best you can do on your to prevent Psoriasis.
